SolidWorks Racquetball Challenge

Week Eight - Friday: Racquetball Progress

To finish off the week, our construction of the modifications to our robot for the racquetball challenge have made some advancements. We began to add an end effector capable of lifting the racquetball. We also added the motor we're going to be using for the end effector.

Week Eight - Monday: Beginning the Racquetball Challenge

This week we began deconstructing the parts used for the autonomous tetrahedron challenge and began modifying our robot for the racquetball challenge. The goal of the racquetball challenge is to have our robot lift the racquetball and place it in a cylindrical post.

Week Seven - Friday: Autonomous Tetrahedron Challenge Completed

After a few weeks of determination and critical thinking, we were finally able to complete the autonomous tetrahedron challenge. Starting next week, we'll begin the modifications on our robot to make it viable for the racquetball challenge.

Week Seven - Monday: Finish Autonomous Tetrahedron Challenge

Our main objective this week is to finish the Autonomous challenge and begin on the following challenge. We are almost done with the Autonomous challenge for the tetrahedron but all we are having trouble is with the robot backing up and removing the object from the claw. Once finished we can begin on the next one.

Week Six - Friday: Autonomous Tetrahedron Challenge

To finish up the week, we completed the joystick tetrahedron challenge. We got 90 points, with two tetrahedrons on the top of the contraption and one on the top right of the side of the contraption. Next week Monday we're going to begin coding the robot to complete the autonomous tetrahedron challenge, which will be the hardest challenge of this year.

Week Six - Monday: Making Progress With the Tetrahedron Challenge

After some time we finished building the arm and building the end effector. We also built the tetrahedron out of straws and a hot glue gun. We are still having coding problems. The arm will move down but refuses to move upwards, but we'll continue persevering until we manage to pull it off.

Week Five - Friday: Tetrahedron Challenge

We began modifying our robot to have an arm that will be able to complete the tetrahedron challenge. The challenge is simple, if we get a tetrahedron on top of a collection of pipes, we're rewarded with points that will serve as our grade. We're also going to start editing SolidWorks to match the design of our robot.

Week Five - Monday: Chair Maneuvering and Tetrahedron

This Monday marks the fifth week of the Vex robotics project in Mr. Martin's class. We've finally finished up completing the third lap on our chair maneuvering challenge. Now we're going to begin preparing for the tetrahedron challenge, which involves getting a tetrahedron to stay on top of a collection of pipes assembled together. This will require us to make modifications to our physical robot and the SolidWorks assembly of our robot.

Week Four - Friday: Chair Maneuvering and SolidWorks

After a week of trial and error we have nearly gotten 3 full laps. We've also managed to complete SolidWorks and upload it onto our blog in the nick of time. We're close to completing the autonomous challenge, and we can't give up now.
